Ya’ll know I love me a good Mormon, right? (I know, I know, guys, you HATE being called that. Sorry. It’s just so much shorter than the whole CJCLDS thing. Sorry.)

Maybe you didn’t know.

I totally love me some Mormons. Not enough to don the jammies, necessarily, but I have noticed that I have yet to not get along with a member of the LDS church. At least, those members that can get past my occasional baudiness and bad language.

(It has just occured to me that maybe the Mormons don’t particularly want my love if it’s going to be so nasty all the time. Pshaw.)

I spent a whole summer being proselytized to while I worked at BYU, and I had a fantastic time, meeting wonderful people and exploring Utah. I did not convert. But I walked away won over.

ANYWHO. Very long story very short, there’s a beloved blogger Mormon in trouble, y’all, and you can help. Stephanie Nielson, author of the popular blog The NieNie Diaries, was in a plane crash last weekend. And her family needs our help! And that has nothing to do with her being a Mormon (which she is) or a mother of four young kids (which she is) or absolutely fantastic (which she TOTALLY IS) and everything to do with a member of our community, needing help.

And her sister, also a blogger, wants me to tell you about all the ways you can help (okay, she didn’t ask me specifically, but it can’t hurt, eh?) You can learn about it here. And you can also get a lovely button like this one right ch’ere:

Anywho. There’s a fantastic auction coming up, and fundraisers, and events, and all sorts of stuff. Because on top of the absolutely unimaginably large medical bills this family will have while Stephanie AND her husband recover from severe burns (Stephanie was burned over 80% of her body, her husband over 30%) there is also the financial and logistical headache of caring for the Nielson’s four children while Mom and Dad are fantastic healing machines.

I don’t do this often. Really, I don’t. But even if this isn’t your cause, I hope you have one. And that you’re doing something about it. Because even that upholds the spirit I’m talking about.
